Hello,

I've been using clipdiary for a month or so and I've noticed over this time that clipdiary negatively affects my work in excel in two ways. I work with large data sets in excel, sometimes as large as 25,000 rows. I often copy and paste these data sets between sheets.

1) When I copy large data sets with clipdiary enabled, excel always freezes for a short period of time (5-60 seconds usually)
2) Occasionally, excel crashes completely, losing all of my recent edits/work (I do have autosave enabled, but you always end up missing something :)

Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix? This is quite annoying and may result in me looking for another clipboard history application that doesn't suffer these issues, if I can't find a fix :(

I just discovered that you can blacklist certain applications for copying. I've put excel on this list and it fixes the problem. It would be nice if this could be fixed so I didn't have to exclude excel.

Are you sure that you use latest version of Clipdiary?

You can add Excel into the filter list. Options -> Filtering -> Problem application.

Usually Clipdiary does not have problem with Excel. Maybe there is some specified at your system, maybe some plugin or something other.

Usually Clipdiary does not have a problem with Excel but... when you copy a large set of data in Excel to paste else where there is a long delay, I have excluded Excel form programs, I would rather not exclude because sometimes I do want to copy a couple lines and I have to unexclude then exclude etc...

Is there a way in Clipdiary to limit the amount of data picked up in one copy?

Regrettable there is no such feature now. But I think that I should try to add it.

This would be a nice one too. I just think that this will be a tough one to develop though and I'm not sure if there will be a lot of users that will find this useful. Image
